WICHE Colleges and Universities

The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) comprises 170 private and public colleges and universities across the Western United States. Two WICHE programs, the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) and the Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP), allow students residing in a qualifying Western state to travel to another Western state and complete their studies at a reduced cost. Attending a WICHE institution greatly reduces the financial obstacles of paying out-of-state tuition.

General Student Resources

Because out-of-state colleges and universities operate independently, student resources vary widely at each campus. In addition to the resources available at students' home campus, we have gathered some of the nation’s most helpful resources, including scholarship databases and matching services, micro-internships, externships, internship and employment databases, financial and career resources, and exclusive student discounts. We know students pursuing an out-of-state education often face higher costs in tuition and fees on top of the already high nationwide cost of living, so we carefully selected these resources to support the unique needs of college students at out-of-state institutions.

We also want to highlight that college students from all higher education systems (public, private, HBCUs, etc.) can also take advantage of many of the resources listed here.
